  1. Let your fingers bent into your palm starting from the pinky (little finger), until the thumb touches slightly on the second section of the index and middle finger.

  2. The fist must be held naturally. It is a loose fist with flat surface and your wrist is relaxed and curved slightly without strength or force that will make it stiff causing the ‘Qi’ to be stagnant.

  3. The way you hold your fist is as if you are holding a small-aired balloon at the center of your palm, so that the internal ‘Qi’ will be circulating without any obstruction. Also, it will cause the internal ‘Qi’ to centralize at the external part of the middle finger before flowing out from the hand. Meanwhile, you can cultivate you ‘Yi’ (Mind) to gradually forget about the existence of the shaped fist during exercise, in order to successfully achieve the utmost condition in pratising the Taiji Quan.
