How Taiji Healed my Knee Pain-by T.Y Chow
I was suffering from knee pain for over 6 months before I started learning taiji. Everytime I walked up the stairs or lift my leg, my right knee feels weak and painful.
In October 2006, I started learning taiji. My master taught me the basic leg movements aka ‘cat walk’..
I practice it continuously for 2 weeks for over an hour each day. Then I noticed there were 2 bruises the size of a 50 sens coin above and below my right knee. As I continue to learn taiji, my right knee pain was completely healed!
So, everytime somebody complains to me about knee pain, I always tell them to learn taiji or if you’re too lazy to learn, just learn the basic step ‘cat walk’. But like me, you’ll get addicted to taiji because it’s such a wonderful art and exercise!
Benefit of Taiji for your Blood Type - by T.Y. Chow
Dr Peter J. D’Adamo is a naturopathic physician and researcher. His work on blood type and nutrition was selected 1990 Physician of the Year by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Here’s an extract from the book ‘Live Right for your Type’ by Dr Peter J. D’Adamo with Catherine Whitney on the recommended exercises for Blood Type A people:-
“Tai Chi, a type of martial art that is basically a form of moving meditation, has also been studied for its antistress effects. Tai Chi clearly drops levels of salivary cortisol, drops blood pressure, and improves mood after a stress-provoking events. Its effects were actually very similar to the antistress effects of taking a walk at 6km per hour and were superior to just reading as an antidote to stress.”
Dr. D’Adamo also recommended Tai Chi for blood type B people. Here’s the extract from his book on this:-
” Tai Chi is ideal for Type Bs, as it requires focus and concentration. A form of moving meditation, Tai Chi has also been studied for its antistress effects. Tai Chi clearly drops levels of salivary cortisol, lowers blood pressure, and improves mood after a stress-provoking event.”
